While the tariff talk has slowed down a bit since US President Donald Trump announced a 30-day pause, one local leader says he’s happy to see some of what’s resulted from it.
Niagara Falls Mayor Jim Diodati says the message of supporting Canadian products is one he’s happy to see, regardless of if there’s threats of tariffs.
Diodati adds that the situation in regards to tariffs from the US is still delicate, and says Canadians should be ready for any possible next move.
The tariffs, which would be imposed on Canada, were paused for 30 days last week by President Trump after Canada unveiled a new $1.3-billion plan to enhance border security.
