Niagara Regional Police say a man is facing charges after an investigation into motor vehicles thefts in St. Catharines and Welland.
Police say the suspect, 24-year-old Nicholas Shaver of St. Catharines, allegedly broke into a number of homes, and stole a number of cars. Investigation revealed that the suspect allegedly either broke into homes or accessed unlocked residential doors and took people’s property.
In total, Shaver is facing 22 charges, including:
• Break and Enter and Commit/Dwelling House (5 Counts)
• Assault with a weapon
• Theft of Motor Vehicle (5 Counts)
• Attempt to Commit Indictable Offence
• Theft Under $5,000 (2 Counts)
• Fraud Under $5,000
• Possess Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000
• Fail to Stop After Accident
• Arson/Fire Causing Property Damage
• Mischief/Damage to property not exceeding $5,000
• Possess/Use Credit Card Obtained by Offence
• Breach of Probation
• Drive Motor Vehicle – No Valid Licence
Police add that he appeared in court over the weekend in St. Catharines.
