Seven people are facing charges after an investigation into the illegal possession of a firearm by a suspect in Welland.
Niagara Regional Police say a search warrant was executed around 5:00am Friday at a home in the area of Harold Avenue and East Main Street, leading to the arrest of all seven suspects.
Detectives seized 68.6 grams of suspected fentanyl, 23.5 grams of suspected cocaine, and $270 in Canadian cash. Charges range from possession for the purpose of trafficking to careless use of a firearm.
Charged include:
Jacob G. O’NEAL (36 years old) of Welland, was arrested and charged with the following offences:
- Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000
- Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5,000
- Careless use of a firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition
- Fail to comply with release order
- Fail to comply with probation order
- Possession of a schedule I substance for trafficking (Opioid fentanyl)
- Possession of a schedule I substance for trafficking (Cocaine)
Justin J. CYOPECK (29 years old) of Welland, was arrested and charged with the following offences:
- Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5,000
- Fail to comply with probation order
- Possession of a schedule I substance for trafficking (Opioid fentanyl)
- Possession of a schedule I substance for trafficking (Cocaine)
Kayla M. MITCHELL (35 years old) of Welland, was arrested and charged with the following offences:
- Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5,000
- Fail to comply with probation order
- Possession of a schedule I substance for trafficking (Opioid fentanyl)
- Possession of a schedule I substance for trafficking (Cocaine)
Josh M. ADAMS (51 years old) of Welland, was arrested and charged with the following offences:
- Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5,000
- Possession of a schedule I substance for trafficking (Opioid fentanyl)
- Possession of a schedule I substance for trafficking (Cocaine)
Alexis SCARFO (21 years old) of Niagara Falls, was arrested and charged with the following offences:
- Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5,000
- Careless use of a firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition
- Fail to comply with release order
- Possession of a schedule I substance for trafficking (Opioid fentanyl)
- Possession of a schedule I substance for trafficking (Cocaine)
Catherine M. MCKELVIE (41 years old) of Welland, was arrested and charged with the following offences:
- Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5,000
- Possession of a schedule I substance for trafficking (Opioid fentanyl)
- Possession of a schedule I substance for trafficking (Cocaine)
Jason B. DIONNE (43 years old) of Welland, was arrested and charged with the following offences:
- Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5,000
- Possession of a schedule I substance for trafficking (Opioid fentanyl)
- Possession of a schedule I substance for trafficking (Cocaine)
All are set to appear in court this week.
