Five times a day, hundreds of people try their shot at Cash FX on Classic Rock 91.7 Giant FM, with the jackpot now over $11,000.
To win, you have to call the studio’s phone number, and guess the sound effect that’s stumped listeners since March.
However misdials are certainly likely with so people calling so frantically to be lucky caller number 10.
Mike Kasm, who works at Bardon Supplies in Welland, has a phone number almost identical to ours, and says he’s had quite a few people dialing the wrong number.
One of the business lines for Bardon Supplies is 905-732-6197, while the number for Giant FM’s studio line is 905-732-6917.
Kasm says he’s had calls in the past from people thinking they were going to be on the radio, but nothing like he’s seen recently with the ever-growing Cash FX jackpot.
The Cash FX jackpot grows by $100 with each wrong guess, and is now the largest radio cash prize in Niagara region history at $11,700 (as of 11:00am on April 23rd). Rob Mise is the Vice-President of Content for My Broadcasting Corporation, the parent company of Classic Rock 91.7 Giant FM, and says the record-breaking prize has people buzzing all across the Niagara Region.
A list of all incorrect guesses can be found on our website, on the Giant FM Insiders page.
