Despite being open to students since September, the grand opening of the new West Niagara Secondary School was held recently.
Niagara West MPP Sam Oosterhoff says this new school is quite the standout, especially when you look at what’s being offered.
Oosterhoff adds that for a lot of people, the trades is where they end up, but not always right away. He says because of this, it’s important to at least put the idea in students’ heads before they’re off to post-secondary.
In addition to being a brand new school, there’s also a number of unique features at this school that may not be found at an older school.
Oosterhoff adds that this school is replacing three older schools that were built to accommodate the baby boom in the 1900s.
