The last two weeks has been a whirlwind for a St. Catharines teenager.
17-year-old Lucas Mason went to the Zach Bryan concert at Scotiabank Arena to see his favourite artist, and ended up singing on stage with him in a moment that’s since amassed more than 12-million views.
Mason says it almost didn’t happen because of some other people at Byran’s concert the night before.
Mason started taking guitar lessons within the last five years, and recently took up lessons with a vocal coach as well.
Since the concert, Mason has seen his following on Tiktok grow to over 130,000 followers. He’s also collaborated with Boathouse, who sent him a new Carthartt shirt to replace the one he wrote on with sharpie, as well as some additional clothing for a Tiktok video.
After the concert ended, Mason says he was quickly recognized on the GO Train home, as another viral Tiktok showed him performing for a train full of country music fans.
Mason got to keep a guitar from Zach Bryan as well, and has since been featured on media both nationally and internationally for the moment. He says it was a dream come true for him, as he’s a huge fan of Bryan’s and has covered a number of his songs in the past.
As for what’s next, Mason says he’s working on a number of originals, and hopes to be releasing music in the near future. You can follow Mason social Instagram and Tiktok.
