As we count down the days left in February, March is right around the corner – and looking rather warm.
Environment Canada Senior Climatologist David Phillips says we could see record-highs this week.
The former record high temperature for Niagara Falls on February 28th is 11.5 degrees, which according to Phillips was set back in the 80s.
He says there’s been a lot of factors going into this year’s historically warm winter.
Phillips says even with these temperatures, there’s a chance we still see some more traditional winter weather appear here and there down the stretch.
Today’s forecast in the Niagara region calls for a risk of thunderstorms with a high of 14 degrees.
