A two-vehicle crash in Welland claimed the life of an 81-year-old woman.
Niagara Police were called to the collision at Prince Charles Drive and Fitch Street around noon on Wednesday.
An 83-year-old man was driving the SUV with the woman as his passenger when they collided with a pick-up truck.
The SUV struck a pole, resulting in the woman’s death at the scene. The SUV driver was airlifted with non-life-threatening injuries, and the pick-up truck driver sustained minor injuries.
Detectives from the Collision Reconstruction Unit are handling the investigation.
