The Niagara Region has added 16 new family doctors since the start of 2024.
St. Catharines and Welland saw the biggest increases, with Niagara Falls also adding new physicians – resulting in an estimated 15,000 residents now having expanded healthcare access.
Efforts to attract and retain doctors continue, with a long-term recruitment strategy in the works.
