As measles cases continue to rise in the Niagara Region, health officials want you to be as diligent as possible.
Dr. Karim Ali, Niagara Health’s Medical Director of Infection Prevention and Control, says it spreads very quickly.
When it comes to prevention, those born between 1970 and 1996 may need a second dose if they’re healthcare workers, post-secondary students, or plan to travel.
Dr. Ali adds that if you think you have measles and are going into a healthcare space, you should call ahead.
In Niagara there are nine confirmed cases, all of which do not have a measles vaccine.
