US officials say search and rescue efforts so far have been unsuccessful after reports of three people going over Niagara Falls earlier this week.
New York State Police say a 33-year-old mother, who has yet to be identified, went over the safety rail with her two children on Luna Island between the American Falls and Horseshoe Falls.
In a release, police say the incident was intentional, and the circumstances are still under investigation.
