
A 52-year-old St. Catharines man has been charged with second-degree murder following a fatal stabbing.
At approximately 9:55 p.m. on Thursday, officers from Niagara Regional Police Service’s 1 District responded to reports of a stabbing near the intersection of Niagara Street and Church Street in St. Catharines. Upon arrival, officers, along with Niagara Emergency Medical Services, located a male victim suffering from life-threatening injuries.
The victim was transported to a hospital outside the region, where he was later pronounced deceased.
The suspect, identified as Stephen Dunk, was arrested at the scene. He has been charged with second-degree murder and remains in custody pending a bail hearing scheduled for Friday at the Robert S.K. Courthouse.
