Niagara Regional Police are investigating an assault at a local daycare.
Police allege a 26-year-old male employee at Way to Grow Daycare in Niagara Falls choked and assaulted a child under the age of 5, resulting in injuries.
As a result, Matthew Maxwell of St. Catharines has been charged with aggravated assault and is expected to appear in court today.
Detectives believe there may be more victims, noting that Maxwell was previously employed at Niagara Nursey School & Child Care Centre in Niagara-on-the-Lake.
