Former Niagara IceDogs forward Carter Verhaeghe has won his second Stanley Cup Championship.
Verhaeghe, a member of the Florida Panthers now, had a goal and an assist in the Panthers 2-1 win in Game 7 last night against the Edmonton Oilers. He is the Panthers all-time leader in playoff goals with 26, and second all time in franchise history in playoff points with 53.
In the 2024 Stanley Cup Playoffs, Verhaeghe tallied 21 points for Florida, including 11 goals – good for second among playoff scorers.
He also won a Stanley Cup with the Tampa Bay Lightning in 2020, and is the only player to have a Stanley Cup win with both Florida-based NHL teams.
Verhaeghe played four seasons for the IceDogs, totaling 224 points in 262 games with Niagara.
