LCBO employees could legally strike on July 5, following a no-board report request by their union to the Ontario Ministry of Labour.
This sets a 17-day countdown, with a potential strike beginning at 12:01 a.m. on July 5 if no agreement is reached in the eight scheduled bargaining sessions over the next two weeks.
The union, representing about 10,000 workers, initiated this move after 97% of LCBO employees voted in favor of a strike mandate.
There are 20 LCBO stores in the Niagara region that could be affected.
