In May 2024, the Niagara Regional Police Human Trafficking Unit launched an investigation into the trafficking of an adult female throughout the Niagara Region and Southern Ontario.
The investigation led to the identification of a male suspect.
On Wednesday, June 5th, the suspect was located and arrested in Toronto.
32 year old Dillan Shand of Toronto, has been charged with trafficking in persons, procuring, benefiting financially from trafficking in persons and sexual services, assault, and uttering threats.
