In December of 2023, the Niagara Regional Police Service’s Human Trafficking Unit began an investigation into the trafficking of a person over the age of 18 years. Three male suspects were identified to be involved in the investigation. Two males from Mississauga were arrested by detectives on May 30 and each face multiple charges.
As a result of the continued investigation, a third suspect was arrested on Wednesday, June 5th. 73 year old Joginder Bajwa of King, Ontario was charged with sexual assault. He was held in custody pending a video bail hearing, which is expected to take place on Thursday in St. Catharines.
