The Fort Erie Meteors fell to the Listowel Cyclones in their third round robin game at the Sutherland Cup Wednesday night.
The Meteors found themselves down a 2-0 after the first frame at the Leisureplex last night thanks to goals from Chet Hudson and Jack O’Donnell, before Listowel would extend the lead to 3-0 in the second with a goal from Ben MacRobbie.
Chaka-Benjamin Ntumba-Muntu would get the Mets on the board about halfway through the third period, but Listowel’s Tanner Dietz would ice the game with an empty-net-goal in the final minute.
The Meteors now face a must-win scenario against the St. Marys Lincolns on Friday night in St. Marys, and also need the Lincolns to lose to the Cyclones on Sunday evening.
Attendance at the Leisureplex last night was 1350.
