The schedule for the Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League’s Sutherland Cup is set.
Locally, the Fort Erie Meteors will represent the Golden Horseshoe Conference for the first time ever, and will be joined by the Listowel Cyclones and St. Marys Lincolns.
Both Fort Erie and St. Mary’s finished second in their conference during the regular season, and knocked off the top team in their respective conferences (Caledonia Corvairs and London Nationals) in seven games in the conference finals. Meantime, the Listowel Cyclones won their conference in the regular season, and lost just one game in their playoffs to this point.
The schedule is as follows:
April 19th: Fort Erie @ Listowel, 7:30pm
April 20th: St. Marys @ Fort Erie, 7:00pm
April 21st: Listowel @ St. Marys, 7:30pm
April 24th: Listowel @ Fort Erie, 7:00pm
April 26th: Fort Erie @ St. Marys, 7:30pm
April 28th: St. Marys @ Listowel, 7:30pm

The top two teams from round robin play will then face off in a seven-game series to determine the winner of the illustrious Sutherland Cup.

The championship was last held by a Golden Horseshoe Conference team in 2022, when the St. Catharines Falcons defeated the Chatham Maroons. Listowel won the championship in 2018, defeating the Golden Horseshoe’s Caledonia Corvairs.
