Welland has added another family doctor – Dr. Jakob Richardson.
He is the third doctor in the last five months to join a practice in the city, after a $1-million incentive program for which $100,000 is allotted to physicians who move to Welland and either start or take over a practice.
As part of the incentive, doctors must commit to staying in the city of at least five years.
