Niagara Regional Police say two people have been charged in connection to a death at the Niagara Detention Centre in June.
On June 10th, police were called to the detention centre after a 52-year-old male inmate was found without vital signs.
This week, 19-year-old Jeremy Lowes-Kennedy of Welland and 39-year-old Kelvin Bascus of St. Catharines were both arrested and charged with second degree murder. They’ll appear in court this week.
An investigation is still ongoing.
