In memory of legendary country music artist Toby Keith, Niagara’s New Country 89.1 is raising their red Solo cups and temporarily rebranding to ‘Toby 89.1’.
As part of the tribute, the station will play exclusively Toby Keith songs from 5:00pm to 5:30pm on February 6th, while also hosting a tribute show at 7:00pm hosted by Rowdy Yates.
The musician, who announced in 2022 that he had been battling cancer for months, is widely praised for his songwriting ability, patriotism, gruff attitude and larger-than-life personality. Throughout his career, which spanned over three decades, he had 20 #1 country songs, including three that topped the multi-genre Billboard 200 list.
Keith was 62 years old.
