West Lincoln Memorial Hospital officials have revealed that local leaders, including the Mayors of Grimsby, Lincoln, West Lincoln, and the Chair of Niagara Region, have formally requested Hamilton Health Sciences to rename the new hospital to West Niagara Memorial Hospital.
The proposal aims to better align with the hospital’s geographic location and accurately represent the broader communities it serves.
The decision on the new name is anticipated this spring, with the change becoming effective upon the hospital’s opening in mid-2025.
