The city of St. Catharines is set to mark Black History Month with a range of events throughout February, offering a chance for everyone to discover the stories and significant contributions of Black Canadians.
Highlights include a launch event at City Hall on Feb. 1, featuring Mayor Mat Siscoe, historian Rochelle Bush, and a performance by Caribbean drummer Chris Fire.
Additionally, an art exhibit titled “Recontextualizing Black History Through Art” and a variety show on February 17 at Robertson Hall will showcase the talents of the diverse Black communities in the city.
