After a wild weather weekend in the Niagara Region, many are wondering about the science behind lake effect snow.
Environment Canada Senior Climatologist David Phillips says very often, it can mean weather changes quickly from one area to the next.
Phillips adds that in Niagara, the influence of both Lake Ontario and Lake Erie can often make the weather unpredictable.
Environment Canada has recently lifted a snow squall warning that had been in effect throughout the weekend in the Niagara Region.
