ST. CATHARINES – The Mayor of St. Catharines has expressed support for the Region’s decision to establish a new homeless shelter within the city, considering it a positive step.
Mayor Mat Siscoe issued a statement regarding Niagara’s plans to construct a 50-bed facility addressing the city’s growing homelessness issue.
The shelter at 29 Riordon is set to open early next year as a temporary solution while a permanent shelter, expected to replace it in two years, has yet to have its location determined.
