NATIONAL – A&W is expanding a pilot program that will see customers able to pay three-dollars for an exchangeable and reusable cup when they order a drink.
Return customers can then exchange the clearly named “One Cup” for a cleaned and sanitized one and get a 20-cent discount on their next drink.
More than one billion single-use cups end up in Canadian landfills every year. The company says A&W’s pilot program has prevented more than 55-thousand cups from ending up in landfills.
