Niagara Health Foundation has announced an extraordinary pledge of $5 million from renowned philanthropist and business mogul Jim Pattison to the South Niagara Hospital and the It’s Our Future campaign. The Foundation says Mr. Pattison’s donation will significantly impact the Niagara Region’s healthcare landscape, enabling enhanced patient care and state-of-the-art facilities and, ultimately, saving more lives. In honour of the donation, the Emergency Department will be named the Jim Pattison Emergency Department.
Jim Pattison has a lengthy history of dedication to the community and public service. He is an Officer of the Order of Canada, and The Jim Pattison Group is among Canada’s most prolific corporate donors. Jim Pattison credits his parents for teaching him the importance of giving back at a young age. Jim Pattison has been a great supporter of Niagara Falls. Niagara Falls is home to two of The Jim Pattison Group’s divisions, including Great Wolf Lodge and Ripley’s Believe It or Not!
