Fitch Street Public School in Welland is a better place to be because Rockstar Employee Shannon Perna has made it her mission to make it that way.
Nominated for the honour by school custodian Tammy Marr, Perna is an Educational Assistant who works with kindergarten students with special needs.
At the school for four years, Perna is described by Marr as “one in a million…the most loving, positive, friendly person imaginable” who greets every student and staff member daily with a smile. As Perna notes, there’s a reason for that.
Besides her regular responsibilities, Perna goes “above and beyond,” her starting of a book club providing full evidence of that.
